Who we are

VeloPrice (velóprice.co.uk) is a UK-based cycling price comparison website. We help cyclists find the best prices on road bikes, components, and clothing across UK retailers.

If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at hello@veloprice.co.uk.

What data we collect

We collect minimal personal data. Specifically:

  • Email addresses (price alerts) — if you set up a price alert, we store your email address and the target price you entered.
  • Email addresses (newsletter) — if you tick the optional newsletter checkbox when setting a price alert, we also store your explicit consent to send you our deals newsletter. This is always opt-in and never pre-selected.
  • Usage data — standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. This is used solely for maintaining the service and diagnosing issues.

We do not collect names, addresses, payment information, or any other personal data.

How we use your data

  • Price alerts — your email is used to send you a single notification when the product you're tracking drops to your target price at any retailer.
  • Newsletter — if you opted in, we'll send you our weekly deals newsletter covering notable price drops, sales, and new products from UK cycling retailers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. Opting out of the newsletter does not affect your price alerts.
  • Service improvement — anonymous usage data helps us understand which products and categories are most useful so we can improve the site.

We will never send you unsolicited emails, sell your email address, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies

VeloPrice uses no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking cookies. We may use essential cookies required for the site to function (such as session management). We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics platform that tracks you across other websites.

Affiliate links

When you click a "Buy" link on VeloPrice, you are redirected to the retailer's website via an affiliate tracking link. This allows the retailer to credit VeloPrice with a commission if you make a purchase.

The affiliate network we use is AWIN. When you click an affiliate link, AWIN may set a cookie on your device to track the referral. You can read AWIN's privacy policy at awin.com/gb/legal/privacy-policy.

Affiliate commissions have no effect on the prices shown or how retailers are ranked on VeloPrice. Results are always sorted cheapest first.

Data retention

Price alert email addresses are retained until the alert is triggered or until you request deletion. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

To delete your data or unsubscribe from all emails, contact us at hello@veloprice.co.uk with the email address you used. We will action all deletion requests within 30 days.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate VeloPrice:

  • Vercel — website hosting. Their privacy policy is at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Turso — database hosting. Your data is stored in EU-region servers.
  • Resend — transactional email for price alerts (email addresses only).
  • AWIN — affiliate network for retailer click-through tracking.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@veloprice.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of VeloPrice after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
